Based out of Rochester, Minnesota, and serving it as well as the surrounding communities, Maier Forest and Tree offers pruning, tree removal, plant health care and consulting services for a diverse clientele including...homeowners, businesses, municipalities, developers and institutions.

Owner Jay Maier has used his 15 years of experience as an arborist, consulting forester and community forester to turn Maier Forest and Tree into a small business that gets big results. While the expert knowledge of Jay and his staff are vital to the success of the company, what sets Maier Forest and Tree apart is its dedication to customer service.

He earned his B.S. in Forestry from the University of Missouri. Since graduating in 1993, Jay was an Arborist for the Davey Tree Company, a Consulting Forester in southeast Iowa, and the City Forester in Rochester, MN. His experience in traditional and urban forestry gives him a well rounded perspective on trees.

Lisa Verkerke Phone: (507) 286-TREE (8733) E-Mail: lisa@forestandtree.com Lisa is the Maier Forest and Tree Office Manager and the voice of the company when customers call the office. Her attention to detail, premier customer service and ability to take on new tasks frees the rest of the staff up to do what they do best - taking care of trees.
Doug Courneya Doug Courneya is a Consulting Arborist (#MN-4037A) for Maier Forest and Tree. He holds a B. S. degree in Horticulture from North Dakota State University and a Masters in horticulture from the University of Minnesota. Both degrees emphasized Arboriculture and Turf and Grounds Management. Doug has 25 years of professional Horticulture work experience with 20 of those being in Rochester.
Mark Cummins E-Mail: mark@forestandtree.com Mark is a Production Manager. He is an ISA Certified Arborist (#MN-4275A) and Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP). He earned his B.S. in Grounds Maintenance from Central Missouri State University. His well-rounded perspective on soils, trees and turf help Maier Forest and Tree to better understand the issues facing most homeowners.
Steve Hengel Steve is an ISA Certified Arborist (#MN-4414A), a TCIA Aerial Lift Specialist and a Production Foreman. He has been working with trees since 2005.
Josh Jobes Josh is an ISA Certified Arborist (#MN-4453A) and Production Foreman. He has been with Maier Forest and Tree since 2005. His problem solving abilities have set him apart as one of the best in the industry at climbing and removing technically challenging trees.
Justin Madsen Justin is an ISA Certified Arborist (#MN-4415A). He earned his Associates degree in Horticulture from Rochester Community and Technical College. Justin has been learning the skills of arboriculture at Maier Forest and Tree since 2008.
